Watson Land Company Leases 103,185-Square-Foot Distribution Center to Coby Electronics
* Electronics manufacturer expands storage and distribution capabilities with relocation
CARSON, Calif.–Watson Land Company, one of Southern California’s largest industrial real estate developers, has leased a 103,185-square-foot warehousing and distribution facility within the Watson Industrial Center to Coby Electronics. The consumer electronics manufacturer has signed a three-year lease valued at approximately $2 million.
This move allows the Lake Success, N.Y.-based company to expand its global distribution capacity as it relocates from a multitenant facility in Rancho Dominguez, Calif.
“This facility provides Coby Electronics with additional on-site storage, increased functionality and the flexibility for continued expansion within the Watson Industrial Center,” said Lance Ryan, vice president of marketing and leasing with Watson Land Company.
The property is located at 989 East 233rd St. in Carson, Calif. within the master planned Watson Industrial Center. The Center is located within the heart of the South Bay market, in close proximity to major Los Angeles freeways, the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and multiple airports.
“As we continue to expand our global sales and distribution operations, we required a facility that would accommodate this growth,” said Michael Troetti, president of Coby Electronics. “This new location aligns with our objective to offer innovative new technologies that meet the rapidly-changing demands of our customers throughout the world.”
Coby Electronics’ sister companies, Coby Manufacturing Corp, Coby Communication LTD, and Coby Digital Center, currently manufacture in China and have sales operations in Mexico (Coby Digital Mexico) and Hong Kong (Coby International Corp.), as well as Coby Electronics Corp’s domestic sales and warehousing operations in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.
The property sits on a 4.5-acre land parcel that allows for excess trailer storage. The facility has 19 dock high truck positions and a minimum clearance height of 24 feet.
