DIRECTV Wraps Up the Ultimate 3D Programming Lineup This Holiday Season

‘Despicable Me,’ ‘Shrek Forever After’, ‘The Last Airbender’ and ‘Disney’s A Christmas Carol’ Are Among the Hit Movies that Will be Available in 3D on DIRECTV CINEMA™

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.–DIRECTV is making the decision to purchase a 3DTV an easy one with its lineup of 3D Hollywood blockbuster movies and exclusive holiday specials and documentaries, available on n3D™, powered by Panasonic and DIRECTV CINEMA™.

n3D and DIRECTV CINEMA’s 3D offerings are all powered by Panasonic. Beginning this December, DIRECTV customers will have access to a variety of new 3D releases for $6.99 each and 3D library movie titles for $4.99 each, on DIRECTV CINEMA (Ch. 104). Titles include:

In addition to the 3D movie lineup, DIRECTV will also offer exclusive access to the Macy’s Presents Jessica Simpson: Happy Christmas Special and the Vancouver 2010 – Stories of Olympic Glory documentary beginning this December on n3D™, powered by Panasonic. The Macy’s Presents Jessica Simpson: Happy Christmas Special is set in the historic Roseland Ballroom in New York City and features guest appearances by singer/songwriter legend Carly Simon on “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentleman” with John Forte on guitar, and pop sensation and sister, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, on “Happy Christmas.”

The Vancouver 2010 – Stories of Olympic Glory is among the first-ever 3D sports documentaries and the first produced on the Olympic Games. The film features stories from the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games including: The Opening Ceremonies; America’s Apolo Ohno in Men’s Short Track Speed skating; Russia’s Yevgeni Pluschenko and USA’s Evan Lysacek in Men’s Figure Skating; and the story of China’s pairs figure skaters, Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo, and their coach, Yao Bin.

DIRECTV’s exclusive 3D channel, n3D™ powered by Panasonic, is available at no additional cost to millions of DIRECTV HD customers. In addition to exclusive 3D coverage of special events such as the 2010 MLB All-Star Game and the 2010 U.S. Open Tennis Championship, n3D customers also have access to exclusive, original 3D programming such as “Guy’s Big Bite” in 3D and “Guitar Center Sessions.”

DIRECTV HD customers received a free software upgrade that enables them to have access to the 3D channels on DIRECTV.
