MMD Unveils UltraWide and Glasses-Free 3D Philips Monitors

Première at IFA 2012 in Berlin: Philips Monitors with Exclusive Innovations for Enhanced Viewing Experience

The new Philips monitors on show include an UltraWide 21:9 monitor, the world’s first Ambiglow 3D display for immersive gaming, an IPS display with Smart MHL, a crystal clear high resolution PLS display as well as a glasses-free 3D display

Place, date, 2012: MMD, the leading technology company and brand license partner for Philips Monitors, is going to launch a series of new Philips displays with new technologies at this year’s IFA consumer-electronics show in Berlin, Germany.  Highlights include the world´s first UltraWide 21:9 format with a big 29” screen, ‘Gioco’- the world’s first Ambiglow display for immersive 3D gaming, IPS display with Smart MHL technology that connects and mirrors your Android smart phone, and an 27” crystal clear high resolution PLS display. Additionally, MMD will show a Philips’ glasses free 3D display.

A showcase of innovations
IFA brings great news for people looking for new technology which can enhance their personal and professional lives. This autumn, Philips introduces the world’s first UltraWide 21:9 display with Multiview. Boasting a large 29” ultra-high resolution screen with 2560×1080 AH-IPS technology, this ultimate display is set to impress you with its crystal clear images and brilliant colors. Multiview increases your productivity with active dual screen, active dual source. Options like super speed USB 3.0 hub, stereo speakers make professional work or play, a breeze!

Furthermore, IFA 2012 is the perfect platform to launch the world’s first Ambiglow 3D display. The new Philips GIOCO, boasting a big 27-inch screen promises to intensify your gaming experience. This iconic ultra narrow bezel display combines zero-flicker 3D viewing and employs the Philips’ innovative Ambiglow technology which creates an image-matching halo of light on rear wall and visually enlarges the screen that gives you a truly immersive 3D experience.

Also in the IFA line-up is the new Philips IPS display with Smart MHL.  It’ large 23-inch screen with the latest mobile High Definition technology enables users to watch photos, play games or watch HD videos directly from Android smart phones – while recharging their mobile device at the same time.

MMD is also unveiling Philips’ professional 27” PLS display with crystal clear, ultra-high resolution 2560×1440 images.  It has a plethora of productivity boosting tools. Multiview technology allows you to simultaneously connect and view dual sources, while its’ in-built 2 megapixel webcam enables you to communicate freely. With super speed USB 3.0 hub you can now save time in data transfer while it rapidly charges your smart phone. Philip’s renowned PowerSensor helps you significantly decrease your energy costs.

And finally, MMD is unveiling glass free 3D display, whereby viewers can now experience full 3D quality without the use of special glasses. Called Autostereoscopic 3D, this technology brings real 3D into the living room and boardroom – great news not only for graphic enthusiasts but also for professionals working with CAD applications e.g. in interior  design or architecture. The IPS features full HD widescreen resolution with brilliant, flicker-free pictures. Its vibrant and sharp images provide an optimum viewing experience.

MMD will be showcasing all these new Philips displays, at the Philips stand, Hall 22. Visitors will have plenty of opportunity to put all the monitors through their paces and see how they perform. The new Philips monitors will be available in major electronic stores later this year.
