Berlin, Germany – Panasonic’s reference in picture quality the Panasonic VIERA TX-P50VT50 has been awarded ‘European Plasma TV of the year 2012-2013’ by the  2012 European Imaging Sound Association (EISA). The award is recognition for the TV’s deep black levels due to an enhanced panel filter blocking the entry of external light, natural colour reproduction and an immersive Full HD 3D performance delivered in a sleek and stylish form factor, thanks to its metal and glass design.

Established in 1982, the European Imaging Sound Association (EISA) is a multimedia association that tests consumer electronic products. With a membership including 50 audio, mobile, video and photo magazines from nineteen European countries, EISA’s awards are known as one of the most prestigious consumer recommendations that products can receive, and a key indication for the best consumer purchasing decisions.

Panasonic’s VIERA TX-P50VT50 NeoPlasma TV wowed the EISA jury with its outstanding performance both in 2D, and in 3D. To explain why it decided that TX-P50VT50 was the ‘European Plasma TV of the year 2012-2013’, the EISA jury commented: “Put simply, Panasonic’s TX-P50VT50 is the best plasma TV you can buy, offering deep black levels, natural colours and a superb Full HD 3D performance. In addition, it’s packed with state-of-the-art features, including built-in Wi-Fi, a web browser, access to social networks, apps via VIERA Connect and an advanced calibration mode. Connectivity is excellent, with an SD card slot, four HDMI inputs and three USB ports provided, and the TV’s design is sleek and stylish. For consumers who like the picture quality that plasma technology delivers, the Panasonic TX-P50VT50 is the number one choice.”

Panasonic’s Blu-ray player DMP-BDT500 and LUMIX G X VARIO 12-35mm/F2.8 ASPH./POWER O.I.S. lens also won awards.  The Blu-ray player won ‘European Blu-ray Player 2012-2013’ with the EISA Awards panel saying: “Panasonic’s DMP-BDT500 has it all. Fast and reliable when reading CD/DVD/BD discs, this multi-purpose modern player offers additional applications to connect with internet services and allows DLNA file-streaming. Generous connections include two HDMIs, making it easy to integrate with the rest of your system.” The lens won ‘European Compact System Lens 2012-2013’, impressing the EISA Awards panel with its “Ultra High Refractive (UHR) glass to minimise chromatic aberrations, retaining a high image quality right across the image area” and the “metal-barrelled construction”.
