P&F, a subsidiary of the Funai Electric Co., LTD, Inc., announcds that its latest Philips Blu-ray players (models 5320 and 7320) will feature BLOCKBUSTER On Demand, expanding the ways in which Blockbuster provides consumers with instant access to movies.
“With Blu-ray, consumers can experience a cinema-like quality in the comfort of their living room,” said Todd Richardson, senior vice president of sales and marketing for P&F, exclusive licensee for Philips consumer televisions and home theater in North America. “Philips Blu-ray players, combined with BLOCKBUSTER On Demand, offer consumers a one-of-a-kind home theatre experience with the added convenience of not having to run out to rent a movie.”
“BLOCKBUSTER On Demand gives customers instant access to the very latest new releases on the same day as DVD and Blu-ray,” said Bruce Anderson, Blockbuster On Demand’s Senior Vice President and General Manager. “These new Philips Blu-ray players are a great way for you to enjoy the latest hit movies or cinema classics and we are excited to enhance that experience.”
The BLOCKBUSTER On Demand service provides comprehensive on-screen search and browsing capabilities, as well as full details, ratings, trailers and other information about each movie directly on the television. This allows for a more personalized and easy to use in-home movie watching experience without having to pay a monthly subscription fee.
