Philips introduces its 2011 range of Blu-ray players featuring Smart TV and YouTube optimized for TV

Barcelona, Spain – Today, Philips reveals its 2011 range of Blu-ray players, spearheaded by the introduction of the new 7000 and 5000 series Blu-ray players. Both players feature Philips’ latest development in the field of connected entertainment: Philips Smart TV. With one of the most comprehensive smart TV packages available, this range of Philips Blu-ray players turns every TV into a connected media portal that can hook you up with online content; stream music, photos and videos from your tablet, smart phone or laptop.

The range is complemented by a new 3000 series Blu-ray player, offering the latest YouTube innovation for TV, which Philips is proud to launch as the first brand in the European Blu-ray market. The range is headed by the high-end 9000 series Blu-ray player introduced at IFA 2010 which offers the best possible audio and video quality in its class and will remain the flagship this year.

The new 7000 series Blu-ray player with Smart TV features Philips’ proprietary CinemaPerfect HD engine for superior Blu-ray quality and sophisticated upscaling of DVD and other sources. To deliver the ultimate movie soundtrack experience as well it features full 7.1 decoding and multichannel output of all HD audio formats. And of course it’s fully Blu-ray 3D capable.

The build-in WiFi-n connection and the Smart TV feature deliver the fastest NetTV experience to date with a large selection of apps including video on demand offerings, smart phone remote control app support and easy content sharing in your home via DLNA. For ease of setup it features build-in WiFi-n and is executed in a new slim design which will stylishly fit any room.
