Unedited press release follows:
Proprietary technology improves transmission error tolerance by validating and correcting data markers to ensure compliance with HDMI standards.
NORWOOD, MA (12/7/11) — Transformative Engineering has introduced the world’s first HDMI Conditioner/Splitter, a new type of device that is designed to resolve HDMI component and cable interface issues, and also to simplify the connection of multiple displays to a single source.
The Transformative Engineering two-way HDS-12 and four-way HDS-14 both incorporate T-E’s exclusive “HDCP Stabilization” circuitry to provide a solution for troublesome HDCP reliability issues when used with certain audio/video components, displays and cable boxes. Known as a difficult protocol for long-length connectivity, HDMI can sometimes be unreliable if strict guidelines are not followed. The HDMI Conditioner function of these devices works to “clean up” unstable HDCP identifier markers to allow for consistent display of High Definition signals and compliance with the most advanced HDMI specifications.
Powered by an included 5-volt supply, these state of the art splitters provide for ARC (Audio Return Channel), CEC, and HEC (Home Ethernet Connection), as well as all current HDMI features such as 3D, High Speed, 2Kx4K, and XV Color. The larger HDS-14 also incorporates unique EDID selection circuitry to allow for resolution assignment and sharing, IR routing, and a Firmware update via USB port.
According to Transformative Engineering president Jay Trieber, “We are not aware of any product that offers this combination of HDMI features and HDCP stabilization circuitry. Over the last two months we have field-tested these devices and in virtually every case by inserting these splitters into the signal path we have resolved what had been considered ‘insurmountable’ problems in various HDMI installations. We believe that this ‘conditioning splitter’ represents a new product category.”
Transformative Engineering will begin delivering limited quantities of these new HDMI Conditioner/Splitters this month. Pricing TBA.
About Transformative Engineering
Transformative Engineering (T-E) designs and manufactures audio, video, and data communications devices and related components that are used by custom installers and systems integrators to create sophisticated home and commercial systems. These products are the result of its founders’ decisions to rethink the design and purpose of certain common-use custom installation and systems integration devices that were underperforming because of substandard quality. The company has grown out of the collaboration and enthusiasm of three veterans of the Electronics Industry: Jay Trieber, President; Peter Tribeman, VP of Marketing; and Engne Tang, Chief Technology Officer. Each of these three founders felt there was a “better mousetrap” to be made, and the results would be enthusiastically received by the Installer community. Their continuing experience with custom installation in their primary companies will infuse this new company with the insight to create the right products for dealers and installers.
