Technicolor Streams Video for LOVEFiLM UK

Technicolor announced that it is providing an online streaming service for, a European film and TV subscription service, delivering film and TV shows instantly to subscriber’s PC’s and in the living room to their TV’s, as well as through its postal DVD rental service.

According to the statement, LOVEFiLM has over 67,000 titles and 1.3 million subscribers. As part of the agreement, Technicolor provides a steaming service, coupled with session management services designed to support multiple business models and provide usage statistics. The streaming service is supported by Technicolor’s digital supply chain service, which includes content ingest, secure hosting on Technicolor’s in-house platform, policy-based fulfillment and delivery to the end consumer.

As part of LOVEFiLM’s recent partnership announcements with Samsung and Sony, Technicolor will provide the online streaming service for LOVEFiLM’s application for Samsung’s Internet@TV service, and for Sony’s BRAVIA TV. LOVEFiLM will provide its unlimited subscription customers with a way to access LOVEFiLM’s catalogue of movies through their Samsung and Sony TV’s.
