Information Packaging Corporation announced that it is celebrating 25 years in business.

According to the statement, founded in 1985, Information Packaging is world renowned for the manufacture of its most popular product – CD and DVD sleeves and envelopes. Utilizing its Tyvek converting expertise in the production of sleeves for computer disks, Information Packaging rapidly became the world’s largest manufacturer of optical disc sleeves.

Rent DVDs Online and Pick up at BLOCKBUSTER Express Kiosk

NCR announced that it has made renting a DVD from BLOCKBUSTER Express-branded kiosks faster and easier, now allowing customers to rent DVDs online for $1 per night.

According to the statement, through the new rent online feature at blockbusterexpress.com, customers can create a favorites list, browse available titles at their preferred kiosk, complete the rental of up to three titles at once online and then pick up their DVDs from the kiosk at their convenience. These new rent online features enhance the home entertainment experience: movie fans spend less time renting and more time enjoying their DVDs.

Imation Commits to RDX Removable Hard Disk Format

Imation Corp. and ProStor Systems announced Imation has extended its RDX license agreement with ProStor Systems. Under the terms of the agreement, Imation will have a license to manufacture, market and sell RDX removable hard disk systems through 2020. Further underscoring the company’s commitment, Imation also announced that it has invested $5 million to help advance ProStor’s technology.

Panasonic Full HD 3D System Now Available

Panasonic and Best Buy announced the world’s first consumer purchase and retail availability of Panasonic’s Full HD 3D home entertainment system certified under the new Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) 3D standard.

According to the statement, beginning today, Panasonic’s Full HD 3D Home Theater System will be exclusively available at select Best Buy Stores via Magnolia Home Theater. The total combined SRP of the Panasonic Full HD 3D Plasma Home Theater System components is $2,899.99. The system consists of a 50-inch class (49.9″ measured diagonally) Panasonic VIERA VT20 Plasma 3D HDTV (TC-P50VT20 – SRP $2,499.95) which includes one pair of Panasonic 3D Active Shutter Lens Eyewear (TY-EW3D10U), and the Panasonic BDT300 3D Blu-ray Disc Player (DMP-BDT300 – SRP $399.95). Additional pairs of 3D eyewear will be available with an SRP of $149.95. The individual components of the system will also be sold separately.
