Boxee Teams Up With Widevine

Widevine and Boxee announced that the two companies will collaborate to make Widevine’s adaptive streaming, virtual DVD controls and digital rights management (DRM) technologies available in CE devices containing Boxee’s software platform.

According to the statement, the Boxee platform is designed to give consumers a connected digital entertainment experience to enjoy movies, TV shows, music and photos, as well as streaming content from websites. As a result of this integration, Boxee customers will be able to access more high-quality, secure content than ever before.
